Being a friend means...

Sometimes being a friend means...
you just be there, no explaning, speaking, no saying, just being
You sit there holding your best friends hand and
you cry with her even though you don't know why
You don't know why she is crying
you don't know why you are crying but
You cry anyway,
you cry until she stops crying and
You don't say a word,
you just be there,
You be there quietly, silently, solidly
you just be there.

  1. Very beautiful Lexi! Did you write this yourself, or where did you find it?

  2. Catrina I wrote it last night...I write poetry, have several books with pages and pages of ink and lead carelessly spilled across the lines but I almost never share...I try to read and free write for an hour or two daily. Just helps to clear my mind. My husband and I are retired so I have days when I do chores, days when I garden, a day for pampering, and days when I do nothing at all but just "be"....still...and yet in motion...but every day I take time to read and write, its my way of releasing every day so I don't let things build up and take my joy of living, loving, being a wife and a mother and truly appreciating where I am in life.
